Daniel Lemire, PhD
Daniel Lemire has a PhD from the University of Montreal and the École Polytechnique and a BSc and MSc from the University of Toronto. In 2020, he received the University of Quebec’s 2020 Award of Excellence for Achievement in Research. He is editor of one of the oldest journals in computer science, Software: Practice and Experience. His open source software is used by major organizations like Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Facebook, Netflix, YouTube, etc. He is among the top 500 GitHub users worldwide in terms of follower count: GitHub is the main platform for open-source software publishing and it has over 40 million users.
