Andrea C. Valente is an educator, researcher, and academic consultant with solid experience in teaching domestic and international students at post-secondary institutions for over 20 years in Canada and abroad. Dr. Valente teaches courses in language education, linguistics, human communication, cultural studies, and academic writing, with experience in undergraduate and graduate programs. She holds a PhD (York University), two Master’s degrees (York University and UFRJ), and specialisations in interdisciplinary programs in the field of Humanities and Applied Linguistics, with focus on TESL, narrative studies, rhetoric, discourse analysis, intercultural communication, and educational psychology (UERJ, PUC-RJ, Mälmo University). Dr. Valente has collaborated with local and international scholars in diverse roles such as journal editor, writer, reviewer, and under/graduate supervisor and mentor. She is an active member of academic associations such as ESTIDIA (European Society for Transcultural and Interdisciplinary Dialogue, https://www.estidia.eu/), The Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric (https://rhetcanada.org/, Neuropsychoanalysis Association (https://npsa-association.org/), and is part of the editorial board In Other Words (https://www.iowdictionary.org/)
