Agnes Vashegyi MacDonald is Lecturer in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Simon Fraser University teaching a variety of sociology courses, including Sociology of Knowledge, Classical Sociological Thought, Global Problems and the Culture of Capitalism, Social Control, and the Sociology of Sport. Dr. Vashegyi MacDonald graduated in Comparative Literature – Sociology Major from the University of British Columbia in 2010. For the last 12 years, she has been teaching Sociology at UBC, Columbia College, Langara College, and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
In 2016 she served on the Board of Governors at Columbia College. In 2019 she served as the Assistant Dean for the Social Sciences A Faculty at Columbia College.

Areas of expertise: sociological theory, comparative discourse analysis of modernity and post-modernity, critical thinking methods
